Civil War in Sudan
Driven by a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, has created one of the world’s most urgent humanitarian crises. Since the conflict began in April 2023, more than 20,000 people have been killed, over 8.1 million people have been displaced within Sudan, and 3 million have fled to neighboring countries. More than half of the population, 25.6 million people, now require humanitarian assistance, with 750,000 on the brink of starvation. Already struggling with political and economic instability, Sudan’s healthcare and essential services have nearly collapsed. Humanitarian access is severely limited, making it difficult for aid to reach those in desperate need. For Dalil Beauty’s founder, a Second Generation Sudanese American Woman, whose own family members have been directly affected this crisis hits especially close to home.
